We need to catch up on two weeks’ worth of photos in Comino Valley, two weeks of stunning photos from our mountains: the The Meta Mountains!
Today we’d like to tell you about a beautiful mountainous area in central Italy, in the Comino Valley, within the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park: the Meta Mountains.
The basin of Prati Di Mezzo It is situated at the foot of Monte Meta and Monte Forcellone, which are among the highest peaks in the Monti della Meta.
In winter, this area becomes a real paradise for lovers of the mountains and snow. In fact, there are many sporting activities to enjoy, such as skiing, winter hiking and mountaineering.
Snow trekking is a truly enchanting activity that allows you to admire the beauty of winter’s natural landscape. In particular, we recommend trying the route from Prati di Mezzo to Monte Meta, which offers a breathtaking view of the Comino Valley.
For those who love to challenge themselves and experience the thrill of mountaineering, Monte Forcellone is the ideal destination. It is a peak standing at 2,030 metres, which requires excellent physical and technical preparation. But the view from the summit makes every effort worthwhile!
Finally, for those who want to spend a peaceful day surrounded by nature, we recommend some wonderful snowshoe walks: you can explore unspoilt places and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the mountains just a stone’s throw from the Comino Valley!
