On 12 October 2025, the Comino Valley It is packed with events designed to help you explore the local area, including walks, theatre, village festivals and family activities. A perfect day to immerse yourself in nature, soak up the history and experience the warm, friendly atmosphere of the valley’s small villages.

🥾 Hike along the Gustav Line Trails – Villa Latina and Vallelucce

A historical and nature trail that winds its way along sections of the Gustav Line, past bunkers, trenches and the evocative ghost village of Cese Falasca.
The walk, led by expert guides, offers the chance to relive an important chapter in local history, whilst surrounded by the autumn colours of the mountains.

🌳 Walking Day 2025 – Lake Posta Fibreno

A major national event celebrating the joy of walking whilst surrounded by nature.
At the Lake Posta Fibreno Nature Reserve, there will be a circular walk of around 8 kilometres, featuring a scenic route and a social gathering to round off the day.
A wonderful opportunity to discover the lake’s biodiversity and enjoy a morning in the fresh air.

🎂 Autumn Festival and Giant Cake – Fontechiari

Fontechiari celebrates autumn with its now famous Maxitorta, accompanied by chestnuts, wine and Nonna Giuliana’s irresistible crespelle.
Throughout the day, there’ll be plenty of live music featuring the Saltapizzica, guided tours of the village, exhibitions on banditry and emigration, and an exhibition of works by the master marquetry artist Paolo Capobianco.

🎭 “The Rattling Cap” – Alvito Municipal Theatre

A classic by Luigi Pirandello is being revived on stage at the Alvito Municipal Theatre.
The performance, which is free to attend, will be directed by Annamaria Vassalli and feature a local cast bringing to the stage one of the Sicilian playwright’s most ironic and biting works.

🏺 F@MU 2025 – Atina Civic Archaeological Museum

To mark the National Family Day at the Museum, the Atina Civic Archaeological Museum offers activities for children and families: creative workshops, games and guided tours of the historical collections.
