A Virtual Bridge between the World and the Ciociaria Region’s Roots
The project “Radici Italia” was launched with the aim of producing a documentary of around 45 minutes for each selected municipality, to be broadcast on Rai channels worldwide. The documentary dedicated to Picinisco, a mountain village in the province of Frosinone, aims to introduce the descendants of Italian emigrants to their ancestors’ places of origin in every respect:
- 🏞️ Environment and Landscape
- 📜 Local History and Traditions
- 🍷 Food and Wine Heritage (with particular reference to the traditional products of the Comino Valley)
Mayor Marco Scappaticci emphasises: «Roots Italy serves as a bridge between Picinisco and its emigrants scattered across the globe, to encourage them to rediscover their roots. We aim to strengthen the bond with Italians abroad and encourage further tourist numbers».
Picinisco: Excellence and Awards for Promoting the Local Area

“Once again,” comments Mayor Marco Scappaticci, “ Picinisco It stands out for its history and unique traditions. After the ‘Orange Flag’ and the ‘City of Cheese’ recognised by the Touring Club Italiano and ONAF respectively, the ‘Radici Italia’ project is now underway, featuring Picinisco – the only municipality in Lazio – in this prestigious global media showcase.”
